I | FACES WEEK 16 | COLLAGES
It's been a couple of weeks since I have participated... and I have missed it! Here is my collage of two urban shoots that I have done recently. The first two pictures from the first shoot in downtown Tampa evolved because of an outfit I saw in the Crewcuts catalog! They put together the cutest, most unique outfits! The last shot is of my son that I did for his 2 year old shots taken down in Ybor City! Enjoy! After you've checked it out head back over to I HEART FACES to see the other creative entries.

Bloggin about Sweet baby B | Tampa newborn photographer
Ok, so sweet baby B finally met his dad for the first time on Tuesday. I so wanted to be there... at the airport... to see the joyous reunion of Bob and Leslee and the first meeting of father and son. I love to see happy tears of joy! BUT, I stayed away. I just didn't want to be in the way! So now that Bob has met his son and according to Leslee "can't stop looking at him" (which is so sweet by the way) I can now blog more pictures of our two sessions!
Here he is at 4 days old... slept like a champ!
And at 14 days old!

Teacher Appreciation May 3-7
Teacher appreciation week is fast approaching! Back before I had children I taught children with learning disabilities for 13 years. I LOVED teaching... but hated the paperwork that went a long with it! Blah! At the moment I am VERY fortunate to be able to stay home with my children and chase my passion which is photography. I would like to extend to ALL teachers in the area half off my session fee and 20% off all PRINTS. So please, if you know of any teachers out there... spread the word! And also THANK THEM!!!! A simple thank you goes a long way for all for the hard work they do to teach the future of America with such limited resources! And if you want to thank them with a gift... get them a gift certificate to laurel photography! :)

Before and after using Nicole V actions
When I first started "getting into" photography I stumbled upon these basic yet much needed photo fix actions. Here are the actions I used.
1. exposure adjust
2. selective skin soft (I use this ALL of the time!!!)
3. eye pop
4. rounded corners
And Viola!

The mom brought it all | Westchase Children's Photographer
And when I mean she brought it all... she did! I was so impressed with everything she brought... changes of clothes, a few toys, some snacks, bubbles and best of all, a boom box to play all of sweet Miss A's favorite tunes! Thank you Karen!!! I met up with Miss A and her mom over at Westchase Thursday morning. Karen wanted me to capture some one year old shots of her beautiful little girl. Here are two teasers until I can get the rest of the gallery done. Thanks Karen for a GREAT morning!!!

All around an outfit | Tampa children's photographer
Ok... so this urban shoot started because of THIS outfit I saw in a Crewcuts catalog.
When I saw it... I just knew I had to photograph it. Now I HEART J. Crew, however it can be quite pricey so.... I set out to find "affordable" lookalike pieces of clothing. If I had purchased everything at J. Crew it would have been close to $300. So I headed over to my favorite "affordable" store... OLD NAVY. I bought both shirts and the sweater there and bought the shorts over at Gap Kids. Everything together cost about $45. I accessorized by adding flower headband and bead necklace from J. Crew that I got on sale months ago. and here is what it looked like.
Pretty close huh? So... if you see something you like and it's out of your budget ...look elsewhere... improvise... it can be done!
Here are the rest of the shots. I told my neighbor that I needed her boys in this shoot. Brooke and her two, K & K, are like brother and sister! They did GREAT!!!!
